And teklein ...Kim pretty much nailed what I always look at one these trucks...The cab is really the main issue when looking at one to restore...Almost everything is available for these trucks for the most part...When a budget is order as most everyone has...It always pays to maybe spend a little more to get a good cab, versus thinking of just fixing one that is a little on the rough side..Its money well spent in some cases....Although with that said..Tearing into one is just as fun imo...lol...Its all really based on what one can do or cant...I say dive into it...There are plenty of (how to) articles on both the Forums I frequent and for the most part...A member has already done or doing what ever task you may be faced with.......Good Luck on your build

Re: Tony’s 1972 Chevy Cheyenne

I think this truck turned out AWESOME!! We thought we were getting a screaming deal, but neglected to check the cab corners and floors. Boy that was a mistake when we went to sell it. Those were the first things people asked about. Granted, those things can be replaced with the help of all the great online vendors, but it is a bit of work.

Needless to say we lost a good amount of money on that truck since we dumped so much into it.

http://girlintheblackcar.com/i...

Done :-)

Re: Tony’s 1972 Chevy Cheyenne

Ive always loved this body style, and have looked for one a few times.

In your opinion what is the most important thing to look for when choosing one of these trucks?

Re: Tony’s 1972 Chevy Cheyenne

That's just sick. I bought #1 and had it home 10 days prior to completeion; had to arrange a meeting with advance trucks to complete the project.. the rest were to follow. Blacks were hot.. charcole/silver sold, but nobody wanted the red ones! seems red is dead in the vehicle market- they ended up on giving the red ones away at regular truck prices- basically free upgrades. I think of all the trucks, I paid the most for my 4x4 - 1500.. being #1 - I got no deals or discounts, and then I stuffed another $8000.00 worth of goodies into it.. total cost for mine in the end was $84,000.00 - rather costly for a 5.3 gas powered 4x4 !! sure hope it retains some value- only two years old, and already have 130,000km - but its been alot of fun- measured in 'smiles per hour' !! - downfall for mine seems to be the over sized wheels- too big! all 4 ball joints wore right out and extremely hard on tires!!

Re: Nathan Warkentin’s 2008 GMC 2500HD – Boyd Coddington Edition

actually... only 10 were deisels!
